Loch Lomond Original
Single Malt
This is a
whiskey I picked up recently as I had not tried it before, I think it was on special
at around 24.50GBP, usually around 27GBP.
It has hints of peat and smoke but extremely easy to drink, no strong
after taste. I did not find it improved
with a dash of water. If I wanted a
cheapish single malt for a quaffing whiskey, I would buy again.
Here is what
Loch Lomond say about it:
LOCH
LOMOND ORIGINAL SINGLE MALT WHISKY IS CAREFULLY MATURED, BEFORE BEING MARRIED
IN THE FINEST OAK CASKS FOR THE PERFECT HARMONY OF FLAVOUR AND AROMA.
THE RESULT IS AN ELEGANT AND FULL-BODIED WHISKY WITH A SMOOTHNESS MAKING
THIS EXCEPTIONALLY EASY TO DRINK. A SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY WITH A DISTINCTIVE BACKGROUND CHARACTER WITH A
HINT OF SMOKE AND PEAT.
And Masters of
Malt:
Tasting
Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Caramel, oily walnut, a touch of dusty oak
smokiness.
Palate: Digestive biscuits and ginger snaps. Subtle
vegetal notes develop later on.
Finish: Diced almond, coffee bean, toasted malt.
