Port Dundas
Single Malt 14 Year
Sadly, Port Dundas distillery no longer exists,
however an independent bottler has bottled the 14-year-old, made in 2004. There were 393 bottles made available and I bought
one, and I am extremely glad I did.
Port Dundas is sweeter than a lot of whiskey’s both in
smell and taste, and even the after taste is of caramel. We decided to have a pre-birthday drink last
evening to get in practice for this evening … for Paul’s birthday. Although this was the second time, I tried
the whiskey, I could not have given it much thought on the first attempt. I got a lot of the tastes last evening and
savoured it to the finish.
Here is what Masters of Malt have to say about it
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Banana fritters, honeycomb and
fresh melon.
Palate: A slow build of gingerbread,
cinnamon and milk chocolate, with underlying apricot and pear.
Finish: Another whack of pear on the
finish, alongside toffee and barrel char.
